Are you getting a good backup?

Over the last few months, we have had several customers suffer losses because their backup was not up to date.

• Backup both your data and programs
• Your backup must be checked to ensure that it can be restored in an emergency. A backup is of no value if you cannot retrieve the data when it is needed
• You must have more than 1 backup media and it must be swapped daily. You should have a backup method where you use a different backup media each day of the week. Example 5 tapes, 1 for each day of the week
• Bring your primary backup off premises on a regular basis. If your building burns to the ground your on site backup will also be destroyed. Most safes that are fireproof are NOT fireproof for computer media

W2 forms

You should check the amounts that will print on your W2 forms at the end of the 2nd and 3rd payroll quarter. Don’t wait until end of the year to find out that an adjustment or deduction has not been taken out properly. Run W2 forms on plain paper. Compare the totals to your 941 report for the same period of time.
